Our off-leash adventures are perfect for your energetic dog — small or large! The pack gets 1.5 hours of off-leash time to socialize, run, swim and have a blast on our own private 40-acre adventure land just minutes outside of Portland.

Our Story

We got our start in sunny San Diego, where our founder swapped scrubs for leashes—bringing her medical know-how to pet care. Now in Portland, we’re all about safe, loving walks and tail wags you can trust.

Surf’s Pup was born after Janis retired from practicing medicine along the beaches in San Diego.
First van, AKA the Doggie Lounge was bought.
Janis and Surf’s Pup relocated to Portland, Oregon.
Expanded by hiring our first Team Leader to work the On Leash hikes.
We bought our second Pup van, AKA the PupLounge.
Janis and partner Steve bought a local Off Leash business and land in Estacada, Oregon.
Surf’s Pup added two more Pup Vans to the fleet, Doggie Lounge 2.0 and the PupBus.
Surf’s Pup has a Team of 7 Doggie Loving Humans.

Surfs Pup Doggie Hikes is the best! Our dog Diego lives for his hikes with Surf's Pup. On days when we’re working long hours, it’s such a relief to know he’s out exploring, socializing, and getting his energy out in the best way possible. Surf’s Pup is phenomenal! The whole team cares so deeply about Gus, always has a smile on their faces, and gives the best reports about how my dog did on the hike. On his first hike, they gave us two Polaroids of him and a little welcome bag. This service is beyond convenient as they come to your home and take your dog on a hike! I rely upon Surf's Pup to care for my dog five days a week! They take her for both on- and off-leash adventures. This review is long overdue. We love Janis and her team at Surf’s Pup! I had been hesitant about entrusting our fur babies with a doggy service. Janis and her crew at Surf’s Pup are absolutely phenomenal. I found her on social media thanks to a few girls I went to high school with. We have two dogs (one older and one puppy) and Surfs Pup allows our puppy Emma an opportunity to socialize and adventure with her pack, while Norman gets to relax at home and go on his favorite special car rides without his sister driving him nuts. My dogs are like my children and I don’t easily trust them in the care of others, but Janis helped me get over that hump with constant communication and listening to any concerns I had regarding Emma with other dogs. Now we are 6 months in and Emma gets out 2-3 times a week to Pup Venture with her friends and absolutely loves it. The Amundson family strongly recommends Surfs Pup!!!
